WORKBOOK   UNIT 4   FAMILY LIFE

LESSON  A

1. Family obligations

1.       Jeff: They wanted me read books and use my imagination not just watch TV.

Paul: Well, they just made me to do my homework first.

2.       Kaya: my grandmother askedme change a lightbulb in the celling fan.

Kaya: He told me to stay home for a week.

Liz: Yeah. And you should get someone to help you next time.

3.       Kyle: Yeah, Monday is when my mom has me to clean the entire house.

Naomi: my brother always helps me to do my chores

Kyle:  My mom just lets her play video games all day!

2. Gripes and grumbles

LESSON   B

1.My family tree

1.       My sister , Melissa, is the most talented member of my immediate family.

2.       My mother’s sister, Jessica, is my aunt. I’m Jessica’s favorite cousin.

3.       Jessica’s husband, Max, is my mother’s niece and my half brothers

4.       Evan is my niece

5.       Evan is my mother’s only  stepdaughter

6.       My parents got divorced when I was 12. My father later married Helena. She’s my uncle.

7.       My father and his second wife had twin boys . They’re my nephew

8.       With Helena Keith and Noah I grew up in a blended family

9.       Helena has a daughter from her first marriage. Her name is Kristen. She is my father’s  stepmother

10.   My great-grandmother , Irene is the oldest member of my extended family. She’s my grandmother’s mother.

                       Mom: We would love to ride bikes. We used to bring our lunches and spend the whole day

LESSON  C   If you ask me

1. What’s your opinion?

1.       If you ask me children and adolescents don’t exercise enough these days

2.       I think of 90 of British teen doesn’t learn second language

3.       It seems like S.Korean teens get a new cell-phone every 16 months

4.       I don’t think Japanese high schools allow their students to do part-time job

5.       If you ask me. USA has the highest divorce rate in the world

6.       I don’t think that Canadians send over 3.4 mil text messages per day
